Over 80% of world's forests are damaged, harming ecosystems and biodiversity. This crisis impacts communities reliant on nature, especially those near protected areas. By protecting and restoring nature, we can create a thriving world for people and ecosystems.

In Africa, climate events like drought and cyclones are intensifying, decimating nature. Communities struggle to recover from the impacts. What’s more, wildlife and people share nature, where water is scarce and food production is difficult. Facing growing resource scarcity, animals are vulnerable to poaching when communities have no other options to turn to for income. Sustainable survival of wildlife parks is only possible if the living conditions of residents around the park also improve.

We work with communities living around protected wildlife parks to foster a mindset of preservation, catalysing entrepreneurship and working with farmers to increase food security in the face of climate change. Through our epicenter strategy, we educate communities to be adaptive and resilient and restore biodiversity through regenerative agriculture and agroforestry. In turn, communities become more resilient through diversified livelihoods allowing both people and nature flourish.
