Working with local communities to clean up the River Mersey in Merseyside, Cheshire & Greater Manchester. Help us improve river water quality, wildlife and recreation access through our community engagement activities, volunteering programmes and River Guardian volunteer citizen science monitoring.

    * Tackling river pollution from littering, plastic, sewage and industry * Addressing poor recreational access to rivers that prevents local people from enjoying their local river. * * Tackling damage to river habitat to improve river wildlife * Lack of outdoor education opportunities for school children about rivers and the environment * Addressing a lack of monitoring of the river environment to assess what improvement works are required.

    *Work with local communities to organise and provide technical expertise for running volunteer working parties to clean up rivers and improve wildlife habitats. Volunteer working parties will also help improve access to rivers, by managing vegetation and making footpaths safe. *Train volunteer River Guardian citizen scientists in surveying river water quality and identifying animals & plants living in rivers. * Deliver indoor & outdoor river education activities for schools and youth groups
