We believe food should be in bellies, not bins! That’s why we collect good surplus food from local suppliers that was destined to be wasted and share it with our community instead. Tackling food waste is essential in our fight against climate change. Your donation will help sustain our future.

Situation
Globally, a third of all food produced is thrown away, contributing an estimated 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Each year, the UK throws away an estimated 10.7m tonnes of food. This has negative environmental consequences as wasted food from UK households accounts for at least 18m tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions. According to WRAP, this wasted food would have made the equivalent of 15 billion meals–enough to feed the entire UK population 3 meals a day for 11 weeks.
Solution
Our charity addresses the environmental issue of food waste by collecting surplus good food from local shops, manufacturers and farms and redistributing it to our community to ensure the food is eaten, rather than wasted. Our approach has proven to be effective in preventing food waste – in total over 8 years, we have rescued 970 tonnes of surplus food, mitigating 2648 tonnes of greenhouse gases CO2 equivalent and enough food to provide more than 2 million meals to our community.
