We’re raising funds to help grow and empower the UK’s amazing community of wildlife recorders – which already engages tens of thousands of volunteer citizen scientists using apps such as iNaturalistUK – and make the NBN Atlas the best it can be, a world-class tool for sharing biodiversity data.

Situation
Biodiversity is in crisis. The UK is one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world: we’ve already lost nearly half our wild species, and a further 16% are threatened with extinction. This is a planetary emergency, yet poor decisions harming nature are still too common. To turn the tide, we need better data on wildlife – which species we still have, and how they’re faring. We need to be able to plan for nature’s recovery and measure it as it happens – which all requires data.
Solution
The National Biodiversity Network Trust is the UK charity dedicated to biodiversity data. Our vital work underpins the success of the entire UK conservation community by safeguarding, mobilising and sharing the evidence needed for nature’s recovery. To save our wildlife and restore biodiversity, we need the help of the UK’s amazing community of citizen scientists and wildlife recorders, to share wildlife sightings, increase our knowledge base, and measure the impact of our actions on nature.
