Situation
Running through the iconic Cotswold limestone landscape the Evenlode and its tributaries have been heavily modified by man over the centuries and are now impacted by continuous pollution from sewage effluent. These once, crystal clear, trout rich rivers now run full of sediment, we need to reverse these changes before it is too late. Good water quality is an essential resource for all life, for agriculture and businesses, for communities and for recreation. Water quality really does matter.
Solution
The ECP have a comprehensive programme of works delivering under our main themes: • Water Quality • Biodiversity, Habitat and Landscape • Natural Flood Management • Education, Access and Recreation We work to involve Citizen Scientists in monitoring the river environment and campaign for change. We work with landowners to deliver river restoration and wetland projects, with communities to deliver natural flood management and to engage locally in the field with our many inspirational projects.
