Help protect Ashdown Forest and its incredible diversity of habitats and landscapes. The Forest is home to rare and endangered species, and was the inspiration for the Winnie-the-Pooh stories. We need your help to safeguard the future of this special place, for its wildlife and its people.

Humanity is facing pressing biodiversity loss and a climate change emergency. As an important and popular site within the High Weald in Sussex, Ashdown Forest has a critical role in responding to these challenges. The Forest is an internationally recognised site for protecting rare and threatened species and heathland habitats, but we need help to ensure that our work can continue.
In 2025-6, we are working to improve visitor access to selected areas of the Forest. This will help us to protect the Forest's more sensitive environments by drawing visitors to more easily accessible spaces. We are also creating improved engagement, outreach and volunteering opportunities, which will build public understanding, knowledge and support. Our important conservation work will also continue, ensuring that the Forest’s rare and endangered species are protected for the future.
