Secondary school energy bills average around £150,000 pa, while primary schools use around £35,000 pa. Around 60% of a typical school’s energy is used outside of school hours. This presents a significant opportunity to reduce costs and carbon emissions by making simple changes to heating settings, and by ensuring lights and equipment are switched off at the end of the school day.
