Support young people to become climate leaders, and help UK schools reduce their carbon footprint. Your donation will allow more schools to get access to Energy Sparks - an energy management tool and education programme that helps schools cut carbon. Last year our schools saved an estimated 8,500 tonnes of CO2 - that’s the same amount of carbon dioxide as flying 810 times around the world!

Secondary school energy bills average around £150,000 pa, while primary schools use around £35,000 pa. Around 60% of a typical school’s energy is used outside of school hours. This presents a significant opportunity to reduce costs and carbon emissions by making simple changes to heating settings, and by ensuring lights and equipment are switched off at the end of the school day. Energy Sparks addresses this issue by democratising access to school energy data, revealing exactly how the school can save energy.

Energy Sparks is a charity that provides a unique online energy management tool and education programme designed to help schools reduce their energy use and carbon footprint. Energy Sparks analyses a school’s electricity, gas and solar data and clearly presents this alongside insights and recommendations that make it easy for school staff and pupils to understand what is happening and take meaningful action on climate change by reducing energy use.
