After decades of under-investment, public transport in the UK is not fit for purpose. Many people are cut off from public transport. And where public transport still exists, services are inconsistent, often unreliable and too expensive for many. The consequences of this are dire for society and our planet. Those who are able turn to cars to get around, putting more vehicles on the road, making the air more dirty, increasing carbon emissions and contributing to climate chaos.

We push the government to put policies in place that prioritise public transport, and we keep up the pressure to ensure they deliver public transport effectively. More public transport is better for people, who can access more opportunities and whose health is improved by cleaner air and less traffic. And, better for our planet, which can revive as less carbon emissions threaten its future.
