Donations to our Nature Recovery Fund will mean we can step up action for nature in three key areas: bringing back wildlife, recovering landscapes and creating wilder communities. We will do this through new projects and increased collaboration with landowners and communities.

Great Britain is now classified as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries and nearly one in six species are currently threatened with extinction. In Herefordshire, once common, iconic species such as turtle dove and nightingale are already locally extinct, while others, such as curlew, water vole and adder, remain only in small, isolated populations, and are on the brink of being lost from our county. We must act more urgently and boldly to restore nature now.

While we are already delivering vital work to restore nature across Herefordshire, the fund will allow us to develop new projects and broaden our collaboration with other organisations, landowners and communities. We will focus on restoring key species such as yellowhammer, toads and butterflies, reconnecting key landscapes such as the Doward, Woolhope Dome and Lugg Valley and inspiring and supporting communities to take action for nature in their local areas.
