Situation
Being based in one of the most deprived areas in the UK, we see multiple challenges that families in our community face. Currently, there are five pressing local priorities we wish to respond to: ● The highest rates of child poverty in the country ● The impact of adverse childhood experiences on children’s life chances ● The need to strengthen family relationships and build family resilience ● The highest levels of food insecurity in London ● The lack of English language ability in our community
Solution
Our goal is to provide a holistic family support programme to our local community, which will see children thrive, families flourish, and our community connect. We will achieve this by: Early Years care and parenting courses, our after-school clubs and holiday activities, our family support and advice service, as well as our Food Club and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) courses.
