Suffolk Wildlife Trust's Mission 2030 is to support the collective goal of securing at least 30% of Suffolk’s land and sea for nature by 2030, to halt the decline of our wildlife and natural environment. Suffolk’s wildlife and wild landscapes are at a tipping point and we urgently need to “bring nature back”

Suffolk’s wildlife is disappearing at an alarming rate, and we are all affected by our more extreme climate. With a 50% decline in our hedgehog population and 41% of insects threatened with extinction, time is running out. Suffolk’s more extreme climate has been evidenced with unprecedented flooding recently. Making more space for nature and providing wildlife corridors will give our wild places the chance to recover and see our flora and fauna abundant again.

Maintaining nature reserves with landscape management, habitat creation, species surveying, wildlife monitoring, and restoration works. With 72% of Suffolk dedicated to agriculture we are advising farmers on how to make nature-positive choices, reconnecting habitats. Our engagement teams are inspiring people and communities across Suffolk to care about nature and take action in their gardens and green spaces. Planning and advocacy campaigns that ensures sustainable developments and speak out for nature on land and sea.
