Honeypot supports young carers aged 5-12 who care for a sick or disabled loved one. We provide early intervention and holistic support to improve their education, social integration, and emotional well-being, helping them thrive despite their responsibilities.

Situation
Young carers face significant challenges, balancing responsibilities like emotional support & personal care for loved ones. These duties often lead to isolation, impacting their wellbeing and education. An inquiry by the All-Party Parliamentary Group in 2023 found a lack of support for young carers is devastating their futures as they face higher rates of self-harm and are twice as likely to attempt suicide. Young carers also achieve 9 GCSE grades lower than their peers (The Children's Society).
Solution
We offer a holistic Wrap-Round support model to address the unique needs of young carers. At the heart of our offer sit residential Respite breaks and Social Emotional & Active Learning (SEAL) breaks delivered across three countryside houses. These are complemented by a pastoral service helping children get support from their school and other organisations, a healthy eating and nutrition programme and a Well-being Fund, helping families in hardship with furniture, clothing, clubs and technology.
