Approximately 9.52 million tonnes of food is wasted in the UK every year - enough to feed over 30 million people, yet 8.4 million live in food poverty. Additionally poor diet is causing multiple health conditions and loneliness is growing as a cause of low mental wellbeing.

FoodCycle will repurpose food that is headed for the bin to create healthy hot meals for people at risk of food poverty and loneliness through our network of over 100 community meal projects across the country. Our volunteers will collect food surplus from supermarkets and local shops and turn it into 3 hearty courses of food for vulnerable people to eat communally. Guests also take home unused surplus so that they can continue to feed themselves throughout the week.
