Growing Awareness is an education programme which seeks to improve understanding of sustainable food and farming systems amongst the general public, researchers and policy makers, so that more informed choices can be made about what to eat and how to farm.

Situation
The public have increasingly become disconnected from where their food comes from. One of the barriers to the wider uptake of more sustainable food production systems is a lack of understanding of the often complex issues relating to what constitutes sustainable production.
Solution
To be able to transition to a sustainable and regenerative food and farming system, we need to open up opportunities for people to visit farms that are leading the way. Alongside this, we will re-invigorate our public campaigns, focusing on key issues including the role of grazing livestock, the importance of localised food production, the need for better food labelling, how to finance the transition to better food systems and how to feed Britain for climate, nature and health.
