Many companies hold onto surplus longer than ever in the hope of monetising it. That means they now offer it too late with non usable shelf life for charities - merely pushing the waste problem onto them. Our project is to freeze and relabel food that reaches the end of its chilled shelf life.

When chilled food is at the end of its shelf life it cannot be used as a chilled product but by following a careful process we can traceably freeze down this food and relabel as a frozen product with one month extra shelf life. This frees more food for people in need, drastically reduces the amount of short-dated child food being wasted by food companies and is a replicable model.

A plan of supervised mass volunteering sessions every fortnight / week using a label machine. This enables us to accept food that has even reached the very last day of chilled shelf life, enabling companies to do the right thing even if they hold onto it too long.
