Furzey Gardens is at the heart of its local community, but the effects of climate change and biodiversity loss are becoming ever more apparent. Long-standing rare plants are struggling, butterfly numbers are dropping in our annual survey and extreme weather warnings increasingly impact our opening. Our waste and energy usage also needs to reduce, to ensure we are doing our bit to combat climate change and model sustainability for our visitors.

We will reach over 20,000 people by expanding our nature weekend, building an eco show garden and hosting a Wild Week for kids. We will also make sustainability improvements, including an eco toilet, converting tools to electric and swapping our plastic pots. We will improve biodiversity in the gardens by adding more habitats and introducing new planting suited to our changing climate.
