We are a small Arts and Education charity creatively bringing Song to South East London. We are seeking to expand our activities comprising community engagement through music in local state schools and care homes, a Young Artist Programme, and recitals by acclaimed Song artists, many of them free.

There are social and economic barriers to classical music. In 2023 Ofsted reported that inequalities in music education persist and had not improved since 2012 – half the primary schools visited did not offer music lessons. Aspiring young musicians may struggle to move from education to professional life and not achieve their potential. The elderly can suffer from lack of social interaction and will often have limited opportunity to experience live music of beauty and quality.
SongEasel provides free school music projects, designs content, delivers activities through a diverse group of artists and assists schools through provision of organisational support. We provide a Young Artist programme to deliver mentoring and performance opportunities to help bridge the gap from education to a professional music career. We deliver performances in homes for the elderly to bring the joy and beauty of live performance to those no longer be able to attend traditional venues.
