Hastings’ multi-lingual, socially diverse communities are known for economic disparities & social deprivation. Rising prices restrict leisure spending for lower-income families. Loneliness & public-transport limitations impact our numerous older residents. Local schools have high percentages of EFL, Pupil Premium, & SEND. Research & experience demonstrate that music can have a transformative impact on the well-being of individuals & communities.

HPO will enthuse & educate. We will offer free of charge public space concerts & outdoor events; a free of charge children’s choir; free open interactive rehearsals & free masterclasses for children; free schools opera workshops; free concert tickets for students, under 18s, & recipients of Job Seekers Allowance & Universal Credit; plus, "pay what you can" tickets. By offering varied orchestral, choral, & opera events & participation projects, we will uplift & inspire.
