The arts lack diversity, and the divide begins young. At the Bernie Grant Arts Centre (BGAC), we believe every child deserves access to the arts, regardless of background. Located in Tottenham, where child poverty is among the highest in the UK, our Schools Programme addresses racial and socio-economic imbalances by offering transformative opportunities, led by brilliant Black artists. By inspiring young minds, we nurture creativity, bridge inequalities, and empower the next generation.

Help us bring our most ambitious Schools Programme to life, inspiring 400 pupils with the transformative power of the arts. In June, we’ll partner with three schools for our Windrush Festival, celebrating the legacy of the Windrush generation and their descendants. In autumn, we’ll team up with primary schools for the Tottenham Literature Festival, bringing brilliant Black British poets to deliver creative writing workshops in schools & giving children a chance to perform their own work.
