Young people’s mental health has been under immense strain for the last few years, with the pressures of the pandemic coming at the same time as service cuts for statutory support. It is almost impossible to access early help when young people are struggling and families feel isolated and desperate. Third sector youth providers, such as HPCA are now in the front line to spot and try to respond to these needs before they become severe and enduring.

To provide a range of activities which support and stretch young people to new achievements, experiencing success and pride in their work. Effective activities: -Are flexible to reach different ages and levels of experience and ability -Build on individuals’ previous experience, work towards their personal goals -Encourage self-expression -Build skills in collaboration, for young people to build strength with their peers and develop meaningful connections -Are supported by trained youth workers
