We will partner with local community groups to deliver free, fun and accessible creative activities for families across Dundee over the school holidays. We want to ensure every child in Dundee can take part in inspiring creative activities, particularly those facing economic and social challenges.

Situation
Dundee has one of the highest levels of deprivation in Scotland, with 50% of residents living with a level of deprivation and over 31% of children living in relative poverty. In the school holidays, many families facing economic challenges have limited access to engaging activities which are needed to reduce boredom, prevent isolation and improve wellbeing. Feedback from communities tells us they need free, drop-in, accessible and high-quality activities for their children.
Solution
Working alongside local partners, DCA will deliver a programme of creative activities for communities across Dundee in the Summer and October school holidays. Sessions will be led by artists and will reduce isolation and boredom by bringing families together to explore craft and printmaking. We will provide safe spaces to gather for free, access to materials and support for parents to make art with their children when they get back home.
