In Birmingham, 900 people prematurely die from air pollution each year. The levels across the city are illegal and causing asthma, lung cancer and strokes. We will change the culture of travel in Birmingham, for the health and wellbeing of our residents through distribution of our 69 wards maps.

Premature deaths related to air pollution are entirely preventable, and our reliance on private vehicles can be changed, but realistic solutions are needed. There is not enough access or information to alternatives, that make the most of our spaces in the city, and contribute to more sustainable methods of transport. Cycling, walking and public transport in Birmingham can be beautifully scenic, and our guide maps provide the information needed to make sustainable switches.

Through the distribution of our 69 Wards maps, and engaging with communities through route finding workshops, led rides and guides walks we will enable people to see the city differently, gain the knowledge and skills needed to leave the car at home and choose walking, cycling and public transport more often, leading to reduced emissions and illness across the city. We want to ensure that individuals have the confidence to travel sustainably and safely, without contributing to climate damage.
