Access to music can be life-changing. Especially for children and young people who face challenges in their day to day lives. With your help, Sinfonia Viva will introduce over 2,000 children and young people in the East Midlands to the joy of live music next year, many for the first time.

We know access to live music and music making can transform young lives. It can build skills and confidence, raise aspirations, create a sense of belonging and spark moments of joy. But access to music isn’t equal for all children. Music provision in schools has significantly reduced in recent years. And challenges including disabilities or a lack of money mean other opportunities are beyond the reach of many children and families. We want to change this.

Your support will enable us to expand our programme for children, young people and families in Derby and the East Midlands. Our year-round programme will include: - Fun, interactive, inclusive concerts for families and in schools; - Long-term engagement in special schools with children with SEN; - Free creative workshops in schools in socio-economically deprived areas; - Inspiring children to engage with science through creative music-making; - Training and resources for teachers.
