Fewer than 3,000 Grevy’s zebras remain. Habitat loss, droughts, competition with livestock for grazing and infrastructure developments threaten their survival. With your support, we can fund local scouts to help secure a future for this endangered species and its habitat. We must act now!

Grevy’s zebras were once widespread across east Africa but since the 1970s their population has declined by over 75%. Kenya is their last stronghold, and in the north a large proportion of Grevy’s zebra exists outside of protected areas. Sharing the land with pastoralist communities, they live in a remote and unforgiving environment, where limited local knowledge of wildlife conservation and human-wildlife conflict put this population at risk of isolation and loss. But we can turn this around.

Leveraging Marwell’s expertise in community conservation and Grevy’s zebra protection, we’ll mobilise local scouts to monitor the species and safeguard the population. Working with local communities and partners, we will raise awareness of wildlife conservation, address challenges such as drought and diseases collaboratively, and promote activities like tree planting and recycling to demonstrate how people and wildlife can live in harmony. With your support, we can make this vision a reality.
