Nearly half of young people surveyed (45%) say that the arts help them relax and reduce stress. But there has been a funding freeze for music services and Hubs since 2007 – a 9% fall in funding against an inflationary increase of 61% - and just 6% of regular participants in Music Education Hub ensembles and choirs are eligible for the ‘pupil premium’ (additional funding given to schools to support young people experiencing economic or family difficulties)

Gabrieli Roar increases the diversity of choral singing by: * partnering with with Music Hubs, schools, Academy chains and other education organisations to help us reach young people most in need of singing opportunities; * offering inspirational choral singing projects at all levels from first access Roar Explore days to intensive Roar Empower residentials for the most experienced; * providing CPD for teachers that increases the skills and confidence to start, maintain and advance local choirs.
