Since 1983, our spirit of collaborative curiosity, connectivity and internationalism has fuelled our work. For audiences, emerging artists and young people, we believe that these values are more vital than ever. As we enter our fifth decade, help us to reach more audiences and communities worldwide.

Situation
Access to art is essential for everyone. Arts in UK schools has significantly reduced, with GCSE arts entries declining by 47% since 2010. Those who do pursue a career within the sector face continued obstacles due to lack of development opportunities. Britain has cut back its culture budget by 6% since 2010, while countries such as Germany, France and Finland have increased spending by 70% - highlighting the necessity to foster international cultural relationships. Solution
We will provide more subsidised workshops to state schools, and more bespoke training and projects to better support teachers. With more time and resources, we can deliver more producorial and dramaturgical support for artists on our Mudlarks artist and ideas development programme. Further, we will better communicate Complicité’s journey; from its origins in Paris to today through a new podcast series that will celebrate and share alternative ways of making art when opportunities are restricted.
