Young people are part of Transition groups, but their presence isn’t always visible. Their unique perspectives are important and need recognition. We aim to map where youth are within Transition, understand their needs and challenges, and co-create supportive offerings that help them thrive.

Situation
Youth today actively seek knowledge and practical resilience skills to respond to climate and social challenges but often lack spaces and resources to learn and grow. They are eager to shape their own futures, yet their presence within the Transition movement remains under-recognised, limiting their opportunities to explore how Transition practices can contribute to a better world. We want to change that.
Solution
We aim to address the needs of this new generation of Transitioners. Our first step will be to map youth within existing Transition groups, engaging them in a baseline study to understand their needs and co-create supportive offerings. A young researcher will lead this work, supported with training, mentoring, and upskilling as needed to ensure effective peer-to-peer engagement. This 3-months long process will be supported by our Youth and Comms team.
