Situation
Wildlife and communities face devastating harm from UK companies putting profit above our planet. Forests are being eradicated, wildlife population numbers are plummeting and indigenous and marginalised communities are bearing the brunt. Without urgent action, future generations will inherit a depleted, unhealthy planet. Yet our current laws don’t hold UK companies to account for deforestation, pollution and human rights abuses in their supply chains here and around the world.
Solution
We’ll push for a Business, Human Rights and Environment Act – a law that holds UK companies to account for harm to people and planet in their supply chains. Through our campaigns, community action and international collaboration with impacted communities, we’ll amplify the voices of the people most affected by UK company-driven forest destruction. And hold the UK government and companies to account. Because our planet and the people that depend on it are worth much more than companies’ profit.
