Women in Thanet live 10.2 years less than the UK average. 37% of Kent residents report feeling lonely, more likely if women, over 65 years and/or live in one of Thanet's 18 areas of high deprivation. Poor local transport infrastructure & high digital poverty means that people aren't aware of the cultural and social activities on offer which can reduce social isolation and hospital admissions through improved wellbeing. The impact of Covid and cost of living crisis continues to isolate many.

POW in the Park returns for a 3rd year with a big celebratory summer solistic celebration of gender equality at Ellington Park, Ramsgate. This free festival includes creative workshops, walks & bandstand music performances by local Thanet women & non-binary creatives plus a women-owned makers' market. Local community group championing equality will rasise awareness of support, including Beyond the Page (migrant women), Manspace (men's mental health) & Thanet Girls Can (sports for girls).
