We’ll bring together our two inclusive music groups – Music Collective (12 to 19 years old) and Community Choir (all ages) – for a celebration of their work. The performance will also feature Angel Shed members (past and present) showcasing music from people of all ages, abilities and cultures

Music making can have tremendous creative & wellbeing benefits, however most mainstream provisions are not accessible for people who are disabled, and require additional support to benefit. This is particularly the case for young people post-school, who are met with a lack of inclusive opportunities. Feedback from families has also identified a need for activities where whole families can take part together; particularly for young people who are disabled, and their siblings / parents / carers.

Music Collective, and Community Choir, are both fully inclusive music groups. Integrated access measures – including Makaton signing, inclusive instruments, and provision of Access Support Workers – open up the world of music for people who may find it challenging to access mainstream provisions. Community Choir will start in 2025 and aims to create opportunity for different generations to join together in the same space, and for disabled and non-disabled people to make music together.
