Unexpected Places runs Light UP and Little Lights, two key programmes to support young people to shine. Through drama and performance we help young people's confidence, wellbeing and skills development. Our inspiring Little Lights programme uses music and sensory play to make magical memories.

Situation
1. Those with babies in hospital can miss out on early experiences to bond with their babies and for babies to benefit from music and sensory play. 2.We are facing a crisis in young people's mental health our workshops and creative resources support young people, when they need it. 3. Cost is a barrier to accessing our innovative, supportive Light UP & Little Lights classes, bursary places ensure we can work with those who need us. 4.Provide opportunities & raise aspirations in creative arts.
Solution
1. By running sessions in neonatal units we can support families through a difficult time and ensure these early formative experiences are not missed. 2. We will create 24/7 on demand workshops and resources alongside in person workshops, programmed by our Mental Health Champion on our Youth Board. 3. Bursary places ensure the viability of the classes and that we are able to support those who need it. 4. Workshops with visiting professionals, programmed by our Youth Board.
