Situation
The climate emergency is the biggest threat to the Oxfordshire countryside. Either through flooding or loss of biodiversity, we need to urgently reduce our carbon emissions to avoid devastation of rural life. This Oxfordshire project will support communities to transition to rooftop solar renewable energy. We want to deliver direct benefits to communities, challenging barriers to change and speeding up the transition to renewables, whilst also protecting our countryside for future generations.
Solution
Working with trusted advisors we will undertake Rooftop Solar Audits to explore the practicalities and the most suitable premises for installing rooftop solar technology on private homes and community assets such as village halls. In addition feasibility assessments will identify funding streams and provide support in applying for funding for local projects, preparing and submitting planning applications, providing guidance on influencing local authorities to secure more renewable energy.
