Young SixSix (Y66) is an ensemble of young performers aged 12-17 from areas in Bristol where access to the arts is limited. Y66 recognises the power of theatre and provides alternative pathways into our engagement programmes, fostering confidence, collaboration, and growth in theatre and beyond.

Young SixSix addresses the concerns of young people and their families, including the growing issue of knife crime, by using early intervention strategies to offer a route from at-risk circumstances into a safer environment. We work with young people from some of the most disadvantaged areas in Bristol, including Lockleaze and Patchway, which are ranked within the 20th and 30th percentiles of the most deprived areas in England, according to the Index of Multiple Deprivation.

Offering a weekly group provides young people with a third safe space away from home and school to grow as individuals. They gain access to positive role models and develop key life skills, including collaboration, communication, confidence, speaking and listening, and creative expression. Working towards a shared goal, Y66 helps young people build a brighter future, with support extending to job references, and higher education guidance, for university and drama school.
