Situation
Over the last 10 years we have seen music education in our schools steadily erode. Feedback we collected in 2024 from 2222 primary students showed only 2.7% students were learning a string instrument, 1.5% brass & 0.3% wind. The Cultural Learning Alliance in 2024 reported that 42% of state-funded schools in England no longer entered pupils for GCSE Music. As a society we seem to be overlooking the countless benefits the arts provide to young people, enriching and enhancing lives.
Solution
Our bespoke workshops designed for students from primary to sixth form will give 580 young people the opportunity to perform alongside our professional musicians, work with our team of composers & expert arrangers & enjoy listening to our professional musicians, who will introduce a new sound world of music featuring a variety of musical instruments & genres. Through our programmes for both mainstream & special schools we will raise the profile of music through an enriching cultural experience.
