Barnsley Youth Choir provides outstanding choral training for over 700 children & young people each week, and 1000s of school children each year; many of whom face significant barriers. We seek to inspire and change lives through music and provide life changing opportunities for those involved.

We see the potential of every child. Despite 1 in 3 children living in poverty in Barnsley we seek to ensure that all children, irrespective of their backgrounds, can access the best quality learning experiences. Benefits go way beyond vocal excellence. Singing in the choir has significant benefits, raising aspirations, developing confidence and supporting mental health & physical wellbeing. With no regular funding, and costs on the rise, we need your support to ensure no child is left behind.
We strive to ensure that there is an equity of opportunity by removing geographical & financial barriers. We now run choirs in the East, South & West of the borough to cater for younger children & our small but essential team of staff support our Music Team, volunteers & members to ensure this provision is possible. Our Singing Champions work in schools across Barnsley providing support & resources for teachers, supporting 4000+ children each year. We need support to continue this vital work.
