D/deaf people are often excluded from arts and health activities both as artists and participants, for reasons of access (lack of captioning, BSL interpretation), financial and geographical status (lack of wi-fi, affordability of internet, lower socio-economic status due to barriers to working) and are often invisible to institutional networks therefore missing out on opportunities to participate fully in society.

Deaf Gathering Cymru is a three-day, Deaf-led festival bringing communities together to explore issues at the heart of their lived experiences. It’ll do this through the lens of creativity, shining a spotlight on Deaf talent in Wales. It’ll include a free symposium, performances, films and participatory events. It’ll support health and wellbeing through sessions including mentoring, movement and dance, alongside opportunities to socialise and build a support network for the Deaf community.
