We provide high quality carbon literacy education to primary school children across the UK. We enable children, their families & communities to reduce their carbon emissions and their impact on the climate. We deliver our programme through a network of skilled volunteers and offer it free to schools

Climate change will be a defining topic for our current young generation and there are important changes we all need to make to help meet the UK’s emissions reductions targets. Yet climate change is not on the national curriculum and 75% of teachers feel they haven’t received adequate training to teach it. A 2024 UCL report showed 87% of school children were concerned about what the world will be like in the future because of climate change, expressing sadness, anxiety, guilt and shame.

Our programme helps children to feel hopeful about the solutions to climate change and enabled to play their part in taking action on carbon emissions. We help them raise their voice on the subject and influence their family to act. The Royal College of Psychiatrists recommends averting eco-anxiety by methods core to the Climate Ed programme, including listening to children and take their feelings seriously, and supporting them to take action to feel more in control, hopeful and resilient.
