Many people never have the opportunity to experience a classical music concert, let alone a concert of contemporary classical music. Many people think that music played on classical instruments is confined to works written hundreds of years ago, not vibrant new pieces written by living composers, from all over the world to be joyfully shared with everyone. For many, new musical experiences are inaccessible: the cost of a concert ticket isn't viable, and the setting not necessarily inviting.

We will deliver a multi-year series of free open-air performances, satellite concerts, learning workshops and community outreach activity. This will include our celebrated Cherry Blossom Concert, our long planned Bike Concert and Stockhausen’s music for parks, ‘Sternklang’ – once in a lifetime works. This activity will take place across the city and surrounding areas, in collaboration with our partners, allowing us to reach new audiences and communities.
