Open Door is essential in giving voice and support to those facing financial and geographical barriers to arts training. The barriers that young people from under privileged backgrounds face getting into the top drama schools are often beyond the financial but can include; a lack of awareness and understanding of the opportunities, a sense of exclusion from arts and creative venues such as theatres, and a lack of experience leading to a lack of confidence in auditions.

We break down these barriers via an 8 month intensive part time course designed to support people to take this next step in their career. We work with people aged between 18-26 who are serious about pursuing a career in the creative industries. We give them the support they need to go into auditions feeling prepared, confident and without worry of financial strain. We also run national workshops about careers available in the creative industries reaching those who might not otherwise be aware.
