Many families are struggling with the cost of living crisis so affording 'extras' for their children can be an issue so fees are affordable/subsidised. Being based in a rural community with poor public transport links reduces access to arts activities for children in their own community. Travelling can incur additional time or financial costs for families. Poor mental and physical health and wellbeing (especially for teenagers) can be positively impacted by arts participation.
Solution
Little Actors offers 50% discounts to low income families. Generally, fees are kept low so as to be affordable for all families. Being based on the High Street in a rural market town, ensures that arts activities are delivered in the town that people live in and arts participation improves health and wellbeing. The work is delivered by highly trained and experienced theatre practitioners ensuring high industry standards of delivery are available for the children and young people.
