Support our campaign to fund an experienced Education Coordinator, a key part of the core theatre works! mission to give disadvantaged children access to the many life-enhancing benefits of a theatre experience. Help us ensure theatre’s positive impact lasts long after the curtain falls.

Situation
Creative industries account for around 6% of the UK’s GDP, yet since 2010 there has been a 37% drop in students taking arts exams. Disadvantaged children have been particularly left behind, robbing them of vital opportunities. Theatre equips children with essential skills – storytelling, teamwork, problem-solving – that are in high demand across all creative sectors, but also form an important part of a child’s emotional and intellectual development. Help us ensure that no child is left behind.
Solution
Since theatre works! was founded in 2021, over 17,500 disadvantaged children have benefited from our grants and that number is growing fast. Our evaluation feedback confirms just how effectively a theatre experience can encourage empathy and broaden horizons. By recruiting an Education Coordinator, we can support teachers and theatres to maximise the positive impact of a theatre trip via provision of Q&A sessions and tailored resources to help children explore the key elements of a play.
