Situation
Hull is a city deeply affected by deprivation, with 44% of neighbourhoods ranked among the most deprived 10% in England. The cost-of-living crisis has intensified this inequality, and our young people are bearing the brunt. Financial barriers are shutting them out of vital enrichment opportunities, like the performing arts, that foster confidence, creativity, and essential life skills. These are not just pastimes—they’re lifelines, boosting mental well-being, education, and future employability.
Solution
At NAPA, we believe that every young person should have the chance to experience the performing arts, no matter their background. By breaking down financial barriers, we will create inclusive opportunities for more young people to access the transformative power of the arts and feel empowered to dream big. Through workshops, coaching programs, and performances on a real stage, we inspire creativity, build confidence, and teach vital life skills to unlock the potential of the next generation.
