SWCC addresses key issues threatening hedgehogs including habitat loss and connectivity, traffic injuries, impact of climate change & illness from pesticides. Through the Hedgehog Hospital, we rescue, treat & rehabilitate injured or sick hedgehogs for release back into the wild. SWCC also raises awareness about hedgehog-friendly practices, such as creating safe garden habitats, reducing pesticide use & promoting wildlife corridors, all of which are essential to reversing population decline.

SWCC hospital's mission is to provide expert medical care and a safe environment for injured and ill hedgehogs, ultimately aiming to release them back into the wild. We also play a crucial role in educating the public about the challenges hedgehogs face and the steps people can take to support their survival. Through research and collaboration, SWCC Hedgehog Hospital contributes to broader conservation strategies aimed at protecting hedgehogs and their habitats.
