Deforestation, drought, and intensive agriculture reduces water availability, intensifying competition between humans and wildlife. DSWF is working to promote conservation and community partnerships to restore and safeguard water sources to protect ecosystems that both people and wildlife need.

Large-scale deforestation reduces regional rainfall, increasing the risk of droughts. In these areas, land conversion for agriculture and industrial development decreases habitat availability and depletes water resources essential for species survival. Animals are forced to roam outside their usual range in search of water, territories, a mate, and food. Endangered species already decimated by poaching are now contending with changes in the landscape making these habitats unhospitable.

We will address these challenges through targeted conservation initiatives that focus on five project categories: • Wildlife Habitat Protection • Reforestation Projects • Community Engagement Initiatives • Sustainable Agricultural Education • Sustainable Water Management Initiatives Through a combination of these efforts, we can protect endangered species, enhance biodiversity, bolster climate resilience, and ensure sustainable resource use for wildlife and communities.
