After 2000 years of Patriarchy, women’s freedoms are taking a disturbing lurch backwards. With the election of convicted sex offenders to world power, rollback of abortion rights in the US, the Taliban’s horrific regime in Afghanistan, forced child marriage in many parts of the world and the alarming rise of domestic abuse during Covid, there is a pressing need to stand up, fight back and challenge these trends. Through understanding comes the power to change the narrative and restore balance.

Our new play will highlight the injustices experienced by women across time and explore the often devastating impact of the systemic social, spiritual and bodily repression of women–on families, children, workplaces and communities. The play will challenge ingrained beliefs and biases and suggest new ways of harnessing the power of the feminine, (eg Mother Nature, Mother Mary, Gaia, goddess of the Earth and giver of all life) to restore the natural relationship between women, men and the planet.
