We want to maximise the impact of our arts-based domestic abuse prevention projects by reaching young people at higher risk of experiencing abuse, incorporating more feedback from young people to improve our projects and supporting the growth of our work into new geographic areas.

Domestic abuse and sexual violence are intensely present in the lives of young people. Statistically, 16 - 24-year-olds face the highest risk of an abusive relationship (ONS, 2022). At least one child in every class will have been living with domestic abuse since they were born (SafeLives, 2017). Despite the devastating impacts these issues can have on young people, they – and the adults who support them - are frequently under-equipped to recognise, respond to, or prevent them.
Through this funding we will: Develop projects that will reach young people in specialist settings and with special educational needs Review more feedback from young people across our programmes and use this to improve our projects in future Support the growth of our work in new geographic areas and/or new groups of young people. This will improve the effectiveness of our projects for 23750 children and young people across London, West Yorkshire, Bath, Norfolk and the surrounding area.
