Sistema Norwich is a social action programme that champions the growth of children and communities through music. It offers free, immersive, ensemble-based music-making opportunities to children and young people who would otherwise have access to learning to play a musical instrument.

Young people in Norwich are among the most socially and economically deprived and disadvantaged in the UK. The city is in the 10% least socially mobile areas of the UK, the most deprived 2% nationally for the children's subdomain of Index of Multiple Deprivation, and 23% of young people in the city are identified as living in poverty. That impacts on young people's access to learning to play a musical instrument, their educational achievement, self-confidence, aspiration and mental health.

Sistema Norwich runs immersive, joyful, collective music-making sessions for up to 150, 7-18 year olds, covering learning to play a musical instrument and participating in an orchestra/ensemble. Sessions run three days a week after-school, with all children attending twice (4 hours per week), across three levels and offering upper and lower strings, woodwind, brass, and percussion. All provision is free of charge. Recruitment prioritises those from less well-off areas of the city.
