Over 12 months 'Cashback to the Future' will engage 140 young people who are not in education, employment or training to develop employability and creative skills, to overcome barriers such as poor health/wellbeing and low confidence/self-esteem, and support them into a positive future.

‘Cashback for the Future’ supports young people living in areas of multiple disadvantage and experiencing one or more barriers associated with the effects of poverty. This could include poor mental health; low levels of employment opportunities; low/no qualifications; low engagement in education/training. Much of the marginalisation our participants experience is due the adversities they may be trying to overcome such as care experience, poverty, trauma or personal /parental substance abuse.

The year-round rolling 12-week programme is delivered by both a Creative Lead and Pastoral Worker. The Pastoral Worker provides wellbeing and progressions support on a 121 basis, supporting participants to overcome individual barriers, identify progression opportunities, and set personal goals. The Creative Lead provides activities such as painting, printmaking, illustration, animation, collage-making, helping building participants’ confidence, positive self-expression and social skills.
