Our plan is to reach further than any previous City of Culture to create a cultural, economic and social step-change for everyone in Bradford. The Beacon will be a welcoming community venue touring the district during 2025 visiting four locations and celebrating local communities and their culture.

Situation
The needs of many of Bradford’s communities are not being met, caused by decades of severe underinvestment. There are limited opportunities for communities to take part in cultural activity that is geographically accessible and facilitated in a way that is open and welcoming to all.
Solution
Our ambition is to change the narrative and empower communities to engage with culture as never before. The Beacon will be owned and brought to life by the people and communities surrounding each park as a place to be together, spend time and build community. The programme of activity will be delivered to address financial, social and geographical barriers to enable as many people as possible to take part in The Beacon as participants, creators and audiences.
