Help us to continue providing free specialist therapy and counselling services for vulnerable children, young people and families in West London. Since 1917 we have been supporting local families to overcome challenges in their lives, improve mental wellbeing and help children reach their potential.

In 2022, 1 in 4 (25%) 17-19 year olds in England had a probable mental disorder – an increase from 1 in 6 in 2021 (NHS Digital) – with young people from the lowest income bracket 4.5 times more likely to experience severe mental health issues than those in the highest bracket (Mind). Yet research shows children from the most deprived areas are twice as likely to be rejected by NHS mental health services compared to their peers (Cambridge University & National Children's Bureau).

As a small, local independent charity, WLAC offers free, time-unlimited, professional solution-focused counselling and therapy services to children, young people and families on low incomes. Our experienced team of therapists work flexibly to engage and support clients and their families to help them recognise their strengths and build confidence and resilience to bring about long term change, enabling children and young people to fulfil their potential. Last year we worked with over 520families
